The existing hot-applied rubberized asphalt system had reached end of service life after 22 years, with widespread delamination and active leaking into occupied concession and retail spaces below. Working within a 10-week off-season window, our team mobilized six application crews simultaneously, completed surface preparation and crack repair, and installed a new reinforced polyurethane membrane system with integral slip-resistant wearing course. The project was completed on schedule with zero major punchlist items at final inspection.
MLB Ballpark: Expansion Joint Overhaul
A major league ballpark was experiencing chronic leaking through approximately 4,200 linear feet of expansion joints across three levels. Previous repairs using standard urethane sealant had failed within 18 months due to insufficient movement accommodation. Our team re-engineered the entire joint program, upgrading to a two-part polyurethane sealant system with 400% elongation rating and installing backer rod at the correct size for each joint width. We also identified 14 locations where the structural joint width had increased beyond original design parameters and installed new mechanical joint covers. NBA Arena: Below-Grade Waterproofing Restoration
A major professional basketball arena in a northern climate was experiencing severe water infiltration into below-grade utility corridors, locker rooms, and mechanical spaces. Stadium Parking Structure: Traffic-Bearing Deck System
An NFL stadium’s 4-level parking structure had reached end of service life on its original vehicular traffic membrane system after 18 years. The failed system was causing water infiltration into vehicles and equipment stored on lower levels, and the deteriorated wearing surface was creating a slip hazard. We installed a new vehicular-traffic-rated polyurethane membrane system across 320,000 square feet of parking deck, including slope correction overlays at multiple low points and new deck drain extensions.
